LED-powered pink triangle shines in dark times on its 25th anniversary

It’s Pride week across the Bay Area, although most events have been canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, it’s not stopping some determined folks from showing their pride in a big, bright way.

Amid social distancing, the 2020 Pink Triangle, a repurposed symbol of queer solidarity and gay rights that was initially intended as a badge of shame, only a hand full of volunteers were allowed to help construct this year’s erected light show.

Alas, the Pink Triangle’s socially responsible revival is an example of the community’s decision to continually “choose compassion over fear” when faced with uncertainty.
